The Pros of Moving To The UK

British people love to moan about their country. But the truth is that most people that live here love it, at least deep down. If they didn’t, then they’d pack up their bags and move elsewhere! Natives often seem a bit bemused as to why someone would decide to move to the UK, but all they can really cite is the cost of petrol and the rain. Those two things do indeed suck, but they’re such a small part of the UK. It’s better to focus on the positives! If you’re thinking of moving to the UK, then take a read of some of the pros of doing so, which we’ve outlined below.

Generally High Standards

It’s easy to overlook if you live here, but the standards of the UK are exceptionally high. In terms of quality of life, it’s hard to think of too many other countries that have the UK beat. You can get free healthcare, schools are good, homes are warm during the winter and cool during the summer. These are the basics of life that can really make a difference, and the UK has them.

You Can Make It Work

Another good point about wanting to move to the UK: it’s generally possible! While Brexit made it feel like immigration has stopped, that’s not the case. There are many, many ways to access the UK. Once you’re here, it’s generally pretty easy to stay, too, though that depends on the type of visa that you’re here on. Look up the indefinite leave to remain meaning to see how you can stay for as long as you like. As well as visas, jobs are generally pretty easy to come by, especially when compared with other countries around the world.

World-Class Events and Culture

For a country of its size, the UK has had an unbelievable influence on the arts and cultural scene. Today, you’ll find some of the best artists, musicians, composers, writers, and more doing their thing within these borders. As such, there’ll be plenty of outstanding culture on your doorstep! And then there’s the matter of events. Some of the best music festivals and sports tournaments take place in the UK. It’s a place to experience the best of the best.

The Food Is Outstanding

The UK has historically had a pretty poor reputation when it comes to food. Yet, while it’s true that British food is not fantastic, the food that’s on offer in the UK can be truly delicious. London has one of the world’s best food scenes; there’s no doubt about it. If you thought the UK didn’t have world-class food, think again!

It’s Fun

Finally: the UK is fun! On a Friday and Saturday night, you’ll find that more or less the whole population is pretty keen to have a fun time. Whether it’s at the pub or a football match or music event, people love to get together and have a good time. And the humour, oh the humour — pretty special.
