Want It Wednesday | 10th May

Welcome back to Want It Wednesday, after far too long a break I’m bringing back this weekly instalment of my wants. After so many of you messaged to see if it was returning I figured you must all enjoy reading these as much as I enjoy compiling the weekly edit. Without further ado here’s this weeks wants:

I’m a sucker for anything Gucci and seeing as I have to be sensible and spend my money on food and bills I’m quick to jump on any good dupes I come across and these Crystal Slip On Loafers by Mango are the bomb (yes I did actually just use that word!), they make me so happy just looking at them and their out there style means that quite weirdly they go with anything from fail safe denim to the clashing shades of pink and red plus they’re flat meaning they tick the sensible mama box.

Talking about being a sensible mama, sometimes you just have to admit that your face needs a switch up when it comes to skincare – to put it nicely my skin is looking tired and I’ve decided that instead of constantly masking it with heavy creams, it’s time to use lightweight face creams that will hopefully boost my skin energy. Say hello to Origins GinZing Energy-boosting Moisturiser: it hasn’t achieved a cult like following for no reason so hopefully it reverse the years of sleep deprivation which I wear on my face!

Another recent ‘switch up’ has been my hair. I got reacquainted with the dark side and took a good five inches off the length which has left it looking much healthier; this means that my styling routing has changed somewhat. With thicker shorter hair, I’m ready to play with the texture and movement of my everyday style and this T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand looks like the perfect Mr Gadget of the hair tools, and if it’s anything like their travel hairdryer (which I swear by) it’ll be great quality.

One thing that will never change about my look is my love for khaki – sometimes I’m worried that my fondness of the colour goes to far (almost like my obsession with an all white house!) I’ve been living this colour way even before it was fashionable. I already have a lovely khaki dress from M&S that I wore in Athens but it’s inevitable that this Marks and Spencer Limited Edition Bardot Shift Dress will find its way to my house – bravo M&S this is effortless off duty style as it’s simplest and best on the high street.

The statement sleeve is here to stay and looking at the everyday tops I Have on rotation for when the sun decides to grace us with its presence, the majority have an attention worthy sleeve. For me it’s the easiest way to add interest to even the simplest of outfits. This H&M Top With Flounce Sleeves in Pink is so easy to wear and does all the hard style work for you, meaning more zzzzsss in bed, winner!

I’m don’t noramlly think to look in Monsoon for new pieces but on a recent shopping trip with my Mama I spotted this Clara Linen Stripe Jumpsuit and fell in love – it reminds me of nineties Ralph Lauren (in a good way) and is a piece I could imagine me wearing to death with my every faithful denim shirt and white trainers.

There you have it, my wants of the week; as always let me know what pieces you’re loving the look of and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram – thanks!

    Happy Wanting!

Red Carpet Ready With Quiz Clothing

It’s not everyday you’re asked to be a judge for the UK Blog Awards; back in the autumn I was honoured but also started to panic (hey I take dresses very, very seriously!) about what I would wear.

Fast forward a few months and Quiz Clothing got in contact to ask if they could dress me for the awards ceremony. I’ll happily confess to not having heard of Quiz clothing beforehand so I was a bit dubious as to a fast fashion retailer would have something suitable for black tie event at the Park Plaza. It didn’t take me long to realise that I’d somehow managed to miss Quiz Clothing off my fashion radar; their clothing collection offers something for everyone at amazing prices.

I’d narrowed my choices down and like a true red carpet regular, Quiz Clothing sent me a choice of two dresses both from the curve range – hello boobs! I admit that when I normally have to size up to the curve range with other fashion brands, the choice dramatically reduces, however with Quiz Clothing I was pleasantly surprised at the abundance of choice available and it was tough deciding between the Curve Cream Floral Print Mesh Sweetheart Dress and the Curve Black Scuba Bardot Skater Dress – in the end timeless bombshell won and I opted for this…

Delivery was quick and convenient and yet again more surprises from Quiz Clothing when it came to the quality and fit of the dresses – with each coming in at under £35, I didn’t have high hopes for the garment fabric, construction or sizing. However both dresses were really well made and despite having to size up, they matched up perfectly with their sizing chart.

I paired my bombshell bardot dress with barely there nude heels and a metallic clutch with big hair, and I felt every inch the part, thanks to Quiz Clothing for getting me red carpet ready; I’ve no doubt that it won’t be long until I’m filling up my online basket with my new favourite brand.

Disclosure: Quiz Clothing gifted me a selection of brushes for the purpose of this review. No payment was received.

  • Want It Wednesday | 8th March

Welcome to this week’s Want It Wednesday where I showcase my weekly wants… Now we all know that I love a shirt dress or five and this khaki shirt tunic dress from COS is a perfect example of just how versatile and easy they are, and yes ok I’ve already got a khaki green shirt dress but one more surely won’t hurt, right?

My next want is one that might not make much sense if you’re not from South London but the minute I saw this on a friend’s Insta I loved it. The Mandem Tee from BowlCut is a perfect play on modern culture and is one of those pieces that is perfect for reminding me that I’m a cool mum, ha!

I’ve always had a weak spot for Guerlain and when I smelt the Mon Guerlain Eau De Parfum it instantly became a new favourite – it’s a real grown up scent that’s girly enough to put a smile on your face every time you smell it.

Now for the oh so expensive yet oh so beautiful pieces from Gucci. I feel that the Gucci Nymphaea Bamboo large two-tone leather tote needs little if no introduction – it’s one of those bags that reminds you of the beauty that comes from good design, and it’s size means it holds its own in the style and substance stakes. The Tian Slip-on Sneaker by Gucci is a reminder of the fun behind the brand and would earn their keep in my wardrobe from shirt dresses (see above) to the classic mum uniform of jeans and a jumper – the perfect spring in your step this season.

Last but not last is the whimsical folksy dress of the moment from Zara – I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been a Want It Wednesday that hasn’t featured a piece from the ultimate high street fashion destination. yes I know it’s short hemline means it’s relegated to my dreams for a little longer until the sun (and warmth) is here but I can’t help feeling that this will be an investment; from school run to the airport runway this dress has my back.

    Happy Wanting!

  • Want It Wednesday | 1st February

The ground may have begun to thaw which means I may have got a little ahead of myself and binge window shopped online this week and these beauties have all been sat in my online shopping basket.

I’m going to get right to the LV elephant in the room and talk about these cleat soled Louis Vuitton ankle boots, they are most definitely a marmite piece and I am firmly in the love camp, with all their nineties vibes.

Talking of nineties vibes, I’m so needing this slogan print denim jacket from River Island – for the past few years I keep saying I’m going to revive the Rosie and denim jacket duo and I think 2017 will finally be the year.

Now I know I am inappropriately premature with this Zara embroidered short summer dress, but who can blame me – I have a feeling come holiday season this will be my go to off duty style summer saviour. Talking of summer, these embroidered floral summer mules are fantastic value from New Look and the block heel makes them wearable, perfect! New Look are also bringing me back to the rainy reality with a stylish thud with their red matte anorak and I have a feeling this will be winging its way to me very soon as it’s ideal for the temperamental school run.

My skin is the worst it’s ever been and is lacking any sort of luminous qualities – say hello to Lancôme’s La Rose à Poudrer, this giant rose highlighter powder is exactly what is needed to breath life into my skin asap.

Last by no means least is this beast of a beauty that is the Gucci Nymphaea Bamboo large two-tone leather tote, there are no words that will do this king of the bags justice, simply put: it’s the bag of 2017.

    Happy Wanting!

  • Want It Wednesday | 18th January

Want It Wednesday | 18th January

Another Wednesday means another week of my wants and this week is a mixed bag, connected only by the fact that I want it all! First up are these flat top visor sunglasses by Victoria Beckham – I know they’re going to be the marmite of sunglasses but I can’t stop wanting them, I’ve always been a fan of oversized sunnies and these with their combination of classic black and futuristic hard line top have my name written all over them.

Switching to the other end of the splurge rainbow is this seemingly rather boring metallic pleated skirt from Mango, but don’t let first impressions fool you. This skirt is the swiss army knife of winter wardrobes. Dress up or down, day or night – it has the potential to be your winter fashion best friend at less than £20 you’d kick yourself for not picking one up. Looking for another relatively low spend high return wardrobe staple? Then this M&S embroidered floral sift dress is one that will continue to pay out in the style stakes for season after season. Yes it may be pretty dressy, but in true Rosie style I wouldn’t hesitate to pair it with a pair of crisp white leather trainers and denim jacket for that relaxed commuter vibe…

Back to weather reality and keeping my feet firmly in winter with these UGG short classic boots – I’ve owned more pairs of UGGs than you’ve had hot dinners but I find myself entering 2017 with none, after I spilt hot wax on my last pair! I don’t care if people hate them; I’m a die hard fan, who doesn’t want comfy, warm as toast feet… sign me up for life!

Talking of comfy yet stylish, this Sweaty Betty Earthshine Sweat is THE BOMB, I spotted it on my Instagram feed yesterday and fell in love; I owned something pretty similar back in 2008 from River Island so that may explain why I like it so much. It’s perfect for layering gym wear but would also work with a pair of jeans, winner.

Now I know I promised no ‘New Year, New Me’ however we could all do with a reminder every now and then to be more present, despite it feeling that I’m pulled in hundreds of different directions every day, yet the most important at all times is Boo and this Be Present bangle from The Mindful Company is such a beautiful way to be reminded of this. Another want this week, that might be a bit of a surprise to those of you that know me is this Love ring designed by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany – I’m not one to wear my love on my sleeve or in this case, finger but this would make the loveliest of Mother’s Day gifts as the script lends itself to such a thoughtful touch that would make me smile every time I looked down and say it, plus the Paloma Picasso designs for Tiffany have such sentimental value to me.

My final want, I feel needs little to no justification; I have a rather large weak spot for luxury make up and skincare and this year I’m determined to discover some little treats for me and beauty subscription boxes seem like the perfect mama treat, and Cohorted offer the very best… I mean who doesn’t fancy the likes of Chanel and Bobbi Brown delivered direct to their door?

    Happy Wanting!
