19 days, jeez! I’m not going to lie I did think it was still a month or so away but upon checking I can confirm that there are less than 20 days until the big 10K.

I’ve run 3 10Ks before but this is the most training I’ve put into a race (although I haven’t run for 2 weeks accounting for holiday and Boo starting nursery!) However I’m more nervous about my race day performance than every before, to be fair I’m just worried that I’ll get cramp or all my hours spent planning my routes on Google maps will have been flawed and I won’t be able to go the distance; these worries are perfectly normal – right?!

Apart from running #operationyummymummy has seen me become a regular at my gyms’ circuits and Saturday morning boot camp sessions – every minute of it hard but really enjoyable (yes I know I’ve become one of those boring people who actually enjoy fitness – guilty as charged!)

Since the beginning of March I’ve lost over 2 stone, with my focus now on shifting the last 2 stone and concentrating on building my muscle and strength. I’m starting to explore the world of protein, supplements and egg whites!

I’ve still got a long long way to go and the there’s no doubt that the 10K will be challenging and painful at times but I know the reward will be amazing!

What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2013?

Apart from neck ache trying to stare at peoples badges and not boobs! A chance to brush up on my skills and take advantage of all the different sessions on offer to give Mummy and Boo a blogging spring clean.

Tell us one thing about you that not everyone knows

I’m half Persian (does that even count as an interesting fact?!)

Boo is a big girl, in fact this morning I’ve got proud mummy stamped all over my face. Today is her first day at nursery. She looked ever the earnest student (more like serial player/ snack eater / hell raiser!!) sporting her new purple Vans for the occasion and even skipped up the stairs!

I spent a few minutes settling her and there were no tears just the briefest of quivering lips before she bounded off without even a glance back. I’m glad – she may be my baby at 6 in the morning when she wants a cuddle and her hand tickled but the world is her oyster and she’s the most badass, conquering, fearless toddler you ever did see so watch out!!

As a treat and a reward for being such a big girl, tomorrow is a Mummy and Boo day; we’re heading to the o2 to see In the Night Garden Live! I keep mentioning to Boo that we’re going to meet Iggle Piggle tomorrow, although I’m not too sure she really understands and if I’m completely honest I’m probably more excited to see her face than she’ll be, but hey that’s surely the reward for being surrounded pip-pip onk-onk on a Tuesday morning!

A happy start to the week: a badass and fearless Boo, a happy Mummy (who by the way found a parking space bang opposite the station this morning!) and the promise of an awesome morning tomorrow helping Makka Pakka. Who said Mondays are the worst day of the week?

Flying with a toddler was never going to be easy but with Tommee Tippee’s new Steri-bottle disposable bottles went a long way in making it hassle free.

Mummy and Boo are back from our holiday and had a ball! Despite ridiculously long delays at both ends (that’s for another time!) it’s fair to say that Boo is a big fan of flying!

Of all the aspects of holidaying on my own with a 22month old, the flight – and in particular take off and landing were worrying me the most. Boo was at the tail end of an ear infection, which added even more anxiety as to the whole ear popping. I’d taken to Twitter to find out hints and tips form other seasoned parent travellers as how best to combat the effect of the altitude and the general comments were that if she still had a bottle (she has one every night before bed) the giving her one for take off and landing was my best bet in reducing any discomfort for Boo.

I wanted to travel as light and as fuss free as possible so Tommee Tippee’s new Steri-bottle was perfect for us. A single use bottle that was sterilized and ready to use with the added benefit of ant-colic technology and the wide teat that Boo is use to.

The bottle comes with easy to understand instructions and clicks shut giving you a leak proof seal. I found it simple to use even with one hand while holding Boo who was fascinated with the view of our luggage being loaded!

The bottle worked a treat and Boo guzzled her milk and proceeded to enjoy the flight so much so that she keeps asking when we’re going on a plane next – what a little jetsetter!

This a great little product from Tommee Tippee and a must for all those travelling with bottle drinkers, as we all know a happy Boo means a happy Mummy!
