  • T3 Featherweight Compact Review

Hairdryers are a pretty big thing in our house: from Boo singing into one to me trying to tame my Persian mane it has a lot of work to do. The T3 featherweight compact has just been released in pink and I was kindly set one to see how it stacks up compared to my salon dryer.

The first thing I noticed was what it said on the box: Compact Size. Mighty Results. I thought it was a pretty bold claim seeing as it’s a folding compact dryer; they weren’t wrong. From unboxing it to trying it out, I was impressed with the quality of the dryer and more importantly how it felt in my hand – we all know how annoying a hairdryer is if it’s too bulky or uneven, it’s all about getting into the rhythm when styling your hair unless you want to spend over an hour and still end up looking like a frizz attacked hedgehog… no thank you.

    T3-4

The T3 featherweight compact not only looks and feels the part but also really performs well. Much quieter than my regular hairdryer it dried my hair in record time and the concentrator nozzle meant that I was able to style my hair as normal. T3s are designed differently to most other hairdryers in that their unique fan design is gentler on your hair – you really can feel the difference even after the first use my hair felt noticeably softer, and with continued use my hair really does feel in better condition. The Tourmaline heating coil (trust me Tourmaline is basically the best gift from the hair gods!) makes light work of my frizz and really helped to boost the shine of my finished style.

The T3 is light, small and has it all – definitely not to be left in the holiday draw, this hairdryer is a serious contender for everyday fabulous looking hair.

  • Staying Put: The Same But A Change

Staying Put: The Same But A Change

It’s become a bit of running joke: “Any news on a move date yet Rosie?” each time I’d smile and say not yet… and it’s not been an easy decision but as of last week there won’t be a move, we’re staying put.

The move date kept being pushed back – we’ve been living in cardboard city for the past three and a half months and the earliest we could realistically expect to move into the cottage would have been mid June – and that’s if there were no more delays which wasn’t guaranteed.

So I sat Boo down over the bank holiday and we had a chat, whilst I won’t pretend that she was part of the decision making process I spent time listening to her thoughts on where we live at the moment and the cottage and what the pros and cons with moving and staying were. It turns out Boo was nervous of frogs coming into the new garden and she wanted to bring her neighbour and bonafide mischief buddy Lily with her. There was me worried about her reaction to us not moving and she simply asked if her birthday party would be in our garden (yes – that’s a whole other project, trust me!) and then she carried on being a busy little bee.

    Mummy-and-Boo-Home-Rennovations

I can’t lie and say I wasn’t a little bit disappointed; after all this is something I’ve been gearing myself up for the past seven months and now it’s just gone – the hardest part is trying to fall back love with our home. It’s needed quite a bit of work doing to it so that’s what I’m throwing myself into at the moment: improving our home to make it perfect again.

In between wallpaper stripping and digging up the back lawn and ripping out the rotten decking – there’s been a few trips to IKEA for some much needed interiors inspiration but I’ll let you into a little secret: it’ll remain a shade of white!

Fingers crossed the big work such as the plastering, fireplace, new ceilings and retiling will be mostly done while we’re away and then just comes the joy of decorating the whole house and getting it finished in time for Boo’s birthday party in July – nothing like a big challenge and a lot of pressure!

Staying put is a good move for Mummy and Boo – the same with a change will see a massive transformation to the house and will no doubt make me fall in love with our home were we will undoubtedly make a heap more memories to go with the ones from the past three years.

  • Easy Holiday Style with JD Williams

Easy Holiday Style with JD Williams

Boo scampered into my room this morning and announced that it’s 11 days until we go on holiday and can we start packing now! I love her enthusiasm for travel and all the dresses that go with summer sun. Boo is all set with her holiday wardrobe and at the majority of it is made up of dresses.

Mummy and Boo holiday summer style is pretty similar; I love the easiness of dresses and just how versatile they are – they’re great for that pool to party look.

JD Williams have a fantastic range of summer maxi dresses that are perfect for pulling off the effortless holiday style; here are my top three picks that are bang on trend and wearable.

This dress is the jewel in the holiday style crown – it’s a real showstopper and I love the richness of the blue and the embellishment really helps to make it ‘the’ dress of your holiday.

I love this strapless maxi dress for summer as it’s perfect as a stylish boho beach cover up but can be glammed up in the evening really easily with a straw clutch, embellished wedges and plenty of stackable jewellry.

What would a holiday dress edit be without a tropical palm print maxi dress, easy to wear and I love the vibrant print – the soft fabric makes it a great option for travelling, layered with a denim shirt and converse, you’re beach ready as soon as you land.

11 days until Alicante and 11 days until suns out, dress out!

  • Boo’s Summer Sandals Style

Fans of Mummy and Boo already know that Boo has more style, swag and sass than a supermodel let alone a 4 year old so with holiday next week, the outfit planning has started. I like to be organised and have been buying her summer wardrobe for the past month or so. Now it’s getting closer to packing our bags and Boo is suddenly the Vogue Editor in our house as she’s insisted that at least 15 dresses are a must and is adamant that we take them all! When it comes to summer shoes, for the second year running I’ve decided to wait until we’re in Spain as I love choosing styles that aren’t available in the UK – plus there’s something about shopping in the sunshine that makes it all the more better… Or is that just me attempting to justify my shopping!

With the recent and very welcome heatwave, I needed to get Boo a pair or two of sandals before we head to Alicante so she has something until we manage to raid the Spanish shops. Brantano have some great value girls sandals, perfect for the little fashionista in you life.

Here’s a snap of Boo on the way home from Alicante last September proudly displaying her latest shoes… I have a feeling her shoe obsession is only going to become more expensive as she gets older – happiness really is a new pair of shoes!

So whilst I may be famed for being able to pack for a 10 day holiday with only hand luggage, it looks like Boo may need a trunk or two for her holiday style must haves.

  • Spring Style with Mini Miss KG

Spring Style with Mini Miss KG

Kurt Geiger is one of those brands that has been with me since late teens right through to motherhood, from lusting after their bags (I mean who doesn’t need a Beatrice croc tote in their life?!) to finding the perfect mix between style and practicality for an off duty mama look. Kurt Geiger and Miss KG are the go to for fun, high quality footwear that’s bang on trend.

So when the lovelies at Kurt Geiger got in contact about sending me some spring styles, I was confused when I clicked through and couldn’t see any heels… That’ll be because I was looking at girl’s shoes. Yes, you heard right there is now a Mini Miss KG range – and it is AMAZING!

With the British summer fast approaching I thought it was sensible to pick a pair of trainers for Boo, instantly falling in love with these Wild Child low-rise white trainers with wild child detailing on the back tape. Simple trainers are big news this season so it was great to find a pair for Boo that are big girl in style yet practical at the same time.

Not wanting me to feel left out (Kurt Geiger are good like that) they also sent me a pair of these brand new pointed slip ons. I think my Snapchat when I unpacked them summed it up pretty well: Snake print, check. Points, check. Bow, check. Metallic gold, check. Perfection! They have everything a shoe needs to carry you from mothering to glam effortlessly; and are supremely comfortable as well.

Just as I predicted Boo loves her knew trainers and couldn’t wait to show them off this weekend – even putting them next to her bed last night; what can I say, Boo understands the joy of a good pair of shoes.

The new Mini Miss KG range just made shoes shopping for Boo a whole lot more stylish and not to mention easier: one for Boo, one for Mummy.

We were both sent a pair of Miss KG shoes.
