It’s the fourth school week and the novelty of getting up early and doing the school run has well and truly lost it’s shine. For me, it’s not the getting up early that’s a sucker for me (I regularly get up at 4.4.5am to sit and work) but the real challenge is somehow transforming my tired mama look from drab to fab – ok I’ll settle for looking like I’ve planned to wear my outfit in daylight – and getting Boo up and ready and out the door by 8.30am; easy peasy, ha!

Working from home means that most days I’m heading back to sit and blog, so does it really matter whether I get my outfit right first thing in the morning when I’ll be home within the hour and can get changed? I’d have to say yes, even more soe when you work at home. The key to being a WAHM and making it work is to have clear work/home boundaries even if my office is in the kitchen! For me that means, making sure the morning chores (breakfast dishes, bed made etc) are all done before we leave for the school run and being dressed with make up and hair done so I’m ready to work as soon as I’m home and not distracted.

Me&I sent me this shimmery tee from their clothing collection which has quickly become a firm favourite for my school run mum come blogger who’s got this covered look aka a stylish Rosie Monday to Friday. The subtle metallic means there’ll be no OTT disco look at the school gate but it makes it more than just a comfy tee.

This morning was chilly with a big C and it meant it was winter coat time. Like most mamas, I have my very own school run uniform that you can see me in most days. With me it’s all about the jeans, converse, casual top/jumper and now with the colder months coming a warm coat is a must have. The lovelies at SimplyBe spotted my Want It Wednesday with the down filled coat and very kindly sent me one.

Even though winter is my least favourite time of the year (c’mon you should all know that by now!) my interest in winter coats is high: I love having a wool overcoat and I have a great one I got a while back but when it comes to an everyday ‘Mum on the run, but still got bags of style’ coat I struggled to find anything. Another London Fashion Week draws to an end and with it we say goodbye (for now) to some of the most amazing and innovative designers who chose to showcase their laters collections in the capital. Believe it or not, I’m not wonder woman, so this year I decided to heavily edit what shows I attended; I’m interested in the runway action, not who’s three seats up taking selfies (total no no when it comes to FROW etiquette).

On the Sunday evening I was invited to Devonshire Square by Oxford Fashion Studio to see the SS17 collections from a number of designers from across the globe. I settled down front row ready for the catwalk show to start. I love it when there’s that anticipation as the lights dim and the music starts, it gives you a flavour of what direction the show will take.

First up was April Banbury who is supported by the Princes Trust. I loved the dreamlike fairytale pieces, the movement and texture of the gowns really shone through.

Next up and a total shift was Inês De Luca, with the sharp lines of the tailoring and the half masks half face cages, this was a collection that meant business, it was as if the models were cutting through the catwalk with the sharpness of the pieces.

Then came OT KUTYR Fashion House – a forward thinking house from Saudi Arabia with a collection that packed a punch in all the right ways. The deconstructed metallic pieces came alive and offered surprisingly wearability which is always something I look for on the catwalk. Definitely one to keep in your little black book of fashion house favourites.

Kraken Counter Couture brought the show to a close with her colour and texture rich collection. The runway was alight with movement from the contrasting use of fabrics and cuts to create an enviable sumptuous collection.
