Hello my lovelies! So we may be having the time of our lives in Orlando with Universal and Virgin Holidays but I could’t miss out a Want It Wednesday – so here’s my wants of the week:
It may be sunny here but I’m under no illusion that the IO’ll feel the cold even more once we land back at the weekend so this pink popper hoodie from Warehouse has all the style with plenty of warmth. Next on the list is less of a want and more of a wing and a prayer as there are less than a handful of these F&F Leopard Print Boyfriend coats left – forget Pat Butcher, these are so Pat McGrath aka street style and sass, perfect for off duty mama style.
The Christmas party season is around the corner and this One in a Million Lulu Guinness clutch is one of those stand out pieces that will you can count on party after party to elevate your outfit. You don’t need to wait until Christmas to add sparkle to your life with Huda Beauty’s brand new Textured Shadows Palette, the Rose Gold Edition. I’m a massive fan of Huda and this palette is everything. She just knows what woman want and I always remembering discovering her YouTube and finally finding a beauty idol who I could identify with.
I’ve been meaning to buy myself a new watch ever since Boo accidentally broke my Folli-Follie watch when we were in Majorca, yet I’ve struggled to find one that really shouts out ‘Buy Me!’ – well I think I may have finally found it with this oh so Rosie Thomas Sabo Glam Spirit Women’s Watch with emerald face. The combination of gold and green proudly clashes with anything and everything, perfect!
When I saw this, I was really surprised that I didn’t have one already – H A Design’s Personalised Leather Travel Wallet is exactly what I need. I’m not a big fan of passport covers (who wants the wrath of passport control when you forget to take it off!!) and it’s great that this can hold everything you need, document wise for your travels and the monogramming is the icing on the cake. Talking of monogramming, I would love nothing more than to find one of Burberry’s classic cashmere scarfs with the red hearts as a playful addition under the tree for me this Christmas… a mama can dream!

Transatlantic Travel with Children | Travel Tuesday
By the time you read this we’ll be about to wake up for our first day of adventures at Universal Orlando and fingers crossed my tips for transatlantic travel with children will have worked and not had me counting down the minutes until I could escape a confined space! Boo is an extremely well travelled young lady and loves hopping on a plane across Europe, however this will have been her first transatlantic flight and I wanted to make sure that she still loved travel even after a nine hour flight – so here’s my tips to help make it that bit easier, and you never even a bit of fun!
Prepare Prepare Prepare!
This goes without saying and fellow mamas have got this down to a tee – but I’m a organisational freak when it comes to travel and rely on lists and list and more lists (you get the jist!) and with this trip I’ve involved Boo in the prep and this helps little ones to feel like their choices matter, even if you do have to wait until they’re asleep to unpack the sixteen Barbies she smuggled into the case!
Treats Galore
Now I know not everyone will agree with this but for me the holiday starts the minute you arrive at the airport, and whilst for mama that means a glass of bubbly in departures children love the idea of being allowed treats that otherwise would be saved for special occasions… For Boo this means picking her own sweets for the plane and having a cheeky glass of fizzy drink and maybe a mini treat from duty free – it’s all about getting them to enjoy every aspect of the travel.
Surprises
Once we’re on the plane, I’ve got a bag full of Smiggle goodies to surprise Boo with – she’ll be over the moon to open the bag and it will give her plenty to do if she fancies a break from the inflight entertainment; which she’ll be able to enjoy as I’ve included a pair of new kids headphones.
Cabin Catwalk
We all know it’s about stylish comfort with me when I travel so it’s no surprise that I’ve got a change of clothes for Boo in our hand luggage, that way she’s more inclined to snuggle up with me for a nap if she’s looking and feeling the part for a spot of dreaming amongst the clouds. Oh and I’m prepared the destination weather with a summery dress and sandals so she’s ready to go the minute we land.
Countless Air Miles of Patience
It doesn’t matter how much you prepare and what you bring along with you, Boo is only five, and if she gets bored or cranky it’s important to remember that excitement and being confined for 9+ hours can make them a little less reasonable than usual and that’s completely normal – that’s the time to crack out the crazy monster voices (please tell me that’s not only me) and start a good old game of I spy… what a classic!

Want It Wednesdays | 19th October
I’m the first to admit that I a big fan of black and all other dark shades, especially as winter draws in but this week there is not one piece of black clothing, footwear or accessories – I know you must be thinking has Rosie had a style transplant but fear not, it’s still me; however I have to say the camel game is strong this season and I’m loving how wearable all the pieces are this week even if I would look like a style hobo if I wore it all at once… hey you never know!
Let’s kick things off with this oversized poncho from Chloé, yes it may be over two thousand pounds but it’s money well spent in my opinion as this could well be one of your investment pieces that you go to year in year out – plus who doesn’t love the throw on and go mega style vibe!
Keeping on the camel train is this crazy yet oh so Rosie knitted polo-neck jumper; yes it has a tiger on it, yes it’s ridiculous but that’s what made me instantly fall in love with it when I went shopping today. I also spotted these insanely amazing earrings with cuff, yes like the tiger jumper they’re over the top but I think they would look just as good on the school run with jeans as they would at a winter time ball.
With Autumn and Winter I always feel like I need a sturdy everyday bag to see me through the horrendous weather and this Croc Beatrice Tote from Kurt Geiger has my name written all over it plus the green will perfectly clash with everything… oh and did I mention it’s currently in the sale, someone please tell me I should buy it!
Just because my accessories take a step in the fierce direction come the colder months doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy floaty delicate dresses like this floral dress from Zara – its’ the perfect candidate for my layering staple this season.
And to round off this week’s Want It Wednesday are these AMAZING boots from River Island. Why are they amazing I hear you ask? Well let’s start with the fact that they’re gold, they’re surprisingly wearable – they’re a great example of how high street fashion can be so right, bravo River Island. Now just to find a matching pair for Boo!

A Bootacular Halloween Tickled Pink Fancy Dress
Another year, another Halloween to prepare for; Boo absolutely loves Halloween – let’s be honest, with a name like Boo, it must seem that Halloween was made for her. This year she’s been invited to two parties, we’re trick or treating on the Saturday, hosting our own Halloween party on the Monday plus the small matter of us heading to Universal Resort, Orlando in the half term. We all know just how seriously the Americans take Halloween celebrations so Boo’s in got a spooky spectacular and I need to up my game when it comes to her costume.
Tickled Pink Fancy Dress got in contact to see about Boo picking a couple of costumes for their kid’s Halloween costume collection. Does a child really need more than one fancy dress I hear you ask? Had you asked me a year ago I would have been inclined to say no, however with Boo’s Halloween social calendar becoming busier year after year – it’s a logical solution; she’s still partial to displaying her happiness by wearing party food…ha!
So now came the serious busy of Boo picking her fancy dress costumes. There was lots of discussions with her best friend so as not to clash but to compliment each other because you know how important it is to get it right – Halloween is a serious business when you’re 5! Boo’s obsessed with Monster High so this Frankie Girl costume was her first choice, and then she chose the Girls Gothic Vampiress outfit – now I think it’s fair to say that they didn’t have her size which was of little significance t Boo who informed me that Grandma could always fix it with her needle and thread – love how Boo knows that sewing is not a service that this mama offers.
The delivery process was really quick and simple with an e-mail letting me know when our items were dispatched. They arrived and Boo was in a frenzy and couldn’t wait to try them on (truth be told I had a hard time getting her to keep still to try and take a photo, and then she tried to plead her case as to why she should be allowed to wear the Frankie Girl costume to bed!!!) We knew that the Vampiress dress would be too big but as you can see, with some clever pinning at the back it looks really good and the bonus is she’ll fit into it next year.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, fancy dress doesn’t have to cost the earth to be good quality that helps to make each occasion unforgettable and with Boo’s Halloween fancy dress costumes from Tickled Pink she’s set for a Bootacular time.

Long Haul In Flight Saviours
It’s less than two weeks until we jet off to Orlando with Universal Resort and Virgin Holidays. I’m no stranger to long haul and with many years of jumping on planes and treating them like buses I’ve come to know what works and what doesn’t. Forget fashion, long haul is all about being comfortable and helping to reduce the impact of changing timezones on your body. It always makes me laugh when you see people turn up for transatlantic flights in heels and dresses… c’mon – embrace comfy natural fabrics, the only runway at the airport is the one you take off from. Here’s my long haul in flight saviours:
M&S Autograph Cashmere Hoodie and Joggers
This has to be the holy grail of long haul comfort whilst still maintaining a modicum of style. We all know cashmere is the comfiest and softest material you can wear, and I love the relaxed fit, perfect for airport lounging and sleeping during the flight.
The White Company Cashmere Bed Socks
Keeping it cashmere with these bed socks from The White Company, I have a strict routine on long haul: get seated then take my shoes off and put these bad boys on, warm toes comfort and for me it really helps with reducing flight swelling. Plus the pink hues are just perfect.
Sleepmask
I’m a big fan of sleepmasks, and are a must have on long haul flights, in fact I’d go as far to say that you could crack one out even on european flights! Travelling on my own with Boo means that it’ll be non stop once we land with no down time, so once I’ve got Boo settled on the plane, it’s vital that I get some sleep so we can hit the ground running with plenty of energy for our Orlando adventures.
Neutrogena Face Wipes
Another thing I do the minute I get on plane, is take my make up off. And whilst I really advise about not using wipes day to day (I’m always banging on about how bad they are for your skin) these Neutrogena wipes are perfect for long haul and they’re kind to your skin. And yes in case you’re wondering I do reapply a full face of make up just before landing.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
Once I’ve taken off my make up I smother my face with the beauty hero that is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream; it’s magic like powers mean you can step off a plane looking more rested and refreshed with great skin. I also put some on Boo as flights are so dehydrating for our skin.
Water Bottle
Ok so this one is kind of a cheat because you don’t need to take a water bottle on board with you (erm anyone else suddenly in love with this S’well gold water bottle… NEEDING!) but I cannot stress how important it is to drink loads and loads of water during your flight -it’s also a good idea to up your water for the week before to hydrate you as much as possible before. The longer the flight, the more of a toll it takes on your body and when we’re dehydrate we’re tired and sluggish so actually if you don’t drink enough you won’t enjoy your holiday as much, it’s a no brainer!
