Seeking Everyday Mindfulness with Everyone Active

Mindfulness. It’s one of those things a bit like flossing; we all know we should be doing it but trying to 1. work out exactly what it is and 2. actually do it seem to the holy grail of nailing adulting. But let’s be honest, when you’re swamped with work, haven’t had a decent nights sleep in over five years, your appetite for another thing to do is a little shall we say depleted. I just don’t have the energy to be a self starter when it comes to discovering mindfulness; it’s one of those things that I’m going to need to have my hand held.

Where does one go to kickstart their journey to mindfulness? Seeing as a month on a secluded dessert island isn’t an option right now, yoga and pilates are the next best thing for clearing your mind and achieving mindfulness plus the exercise is good for you physically; double winner!

Everyone Active have a fantastic programme of yoga and pilates classes with 13 sessions per week available to book online at my local centre, Westcroft. I love the convenience of being able to schedule in an hour of being able to focus on helping me be the best me possible. I also really like the fact that the classes are accessible for all, whether you’re a Bikram veteran or have a phobia of getting stuck in the downward dog (Yes, that me!) you’re welcome to join in with any class and the instructors always make sure to find out who’s knew and pay special attention to help them get the most out of their first classes.

So whilst I won’t be winning mindfulness prizes anytime soon – let’s just say the journey is set to be the equivalent of the route 66 – but it’s great to know that with Everyone Active it’s not a journey I’ll face on my own and the road won’t crumble if I skip a week for a midweek coffee and catch up with the girls!

Disclosure: I’ve been given complimentary membership and personal training sessions.
