All Aboard Royal Caribbean’s Brand New Harmony of the Seas

We’ve been invited to board Royal Caribbean’s brand new Harmony of the Seas on Friday for a two day sail and we’re so excited! The 227,00 ton cruise ship – the biggest in the world docked in Southampton this morning. And with 23 pools, 20 restaurants and a park (yes a real park with over 50 trees) our time on board is going to be jam packed trying to explore as much as we can.

I’m super fortunate in that this will be the third Royal Caribbean ship that I’ve been on and I’m really looking forward to seeing what the latest addition has to offer. Both Boo and my Mum, Victoria are coming with me which is lovely as our time on Anthem of the Seas last year demonstrated how a cruise is the ultimate multi-generational holiday.

Here’s my top 5 can’t waits for Harmony of the Seas:

The Ultimate Abyss
10 stories high lightspeed slide at sea; what’s not to love – the big kid in me can’t wait to have a go – definitely one for the thrill seeker.

Studio B
An ice rink at sea is going to be a real winner for all the family; and is on Boo’s must see list. I’m looking forward to catching a show with Boo and bucket of popcorn.

The Seven Neighbourhoods
I love this concept by Royal Caribbean – the ship is divided into seven separate areas or ‘neighbourhoods’ from the Promenade, which is exactly as it sounds with a carousel to Central Park which really is a floating park. The different neighbourhoods create different vibes and match your mood and activity, plus this one has a Starbucks… winner winner, caramel macchiato for after dinner!

The Food
If I had to chose one place to eat for the rest of my life it would hands down be a Royal Caribbean cruise ship; there is literally everything you could ever want and more – plus the quality of the food is second to none. I’m still to this day yet to find a better fillet mignon.

Memories at Sea
I’ve always said family holidays are when the best memories are made and this couldn’t be truer than when we’re on a Royal Caribbean ship. From mocktails in the ‘cacuzzi’ (Even though Boo knows it’s called a Jacuzzi she prefers her version) and catching a show to watching the sun rise from your balcony with a cup of tea while Boo is snoring her head off. These are the moments that carry me when I’m swamped with deadlines and afternoon darkness in the winter months.
