Mothers Day: 34 Weeks under Mummy Rule

All week it’s been impossible to escape the constant reminders that Mothers Day is upon us. Ever since I was a young child I have always thought of Mothering Sunday as really special and an opportunity to show my Mummy just how much I love and appreciate her.

Tomorrow is my first Mothers Day as the Mummy as well as devoted child (I was pleased to hear from Mama Dearest that two cards had dropped on her mat this morning!) I’ll be honest I had romantic ideas of Boo handing me a homemade card and having breakfast in bed – supervised by He of course!

The reality is somewhat different. He is away with the TA for the weekend so I will be waking up as normal and seeing to Boo whilst also attempting to keep the Stinkies from killing each other (boring weekends are lethal when it comes to teenage boys!)

I know in the grand scheme of things it’s just another day but if I’m honest I did have my sights set on a memorable day, I don’t mind the following years I just wanted the first to be special.

I suppose this is what happens when you’re the organiser aka Mummy of the family. I coordinated all the cards – five in total; all taking into account different tastes! And perhaps this will encourage me to delegate within the household more and even take the odd break from micromanaging.

Mothers Day aside tomorrow will be special for Mummy and Boo. Boo will be 34 weeks, so she’s been as

long out of my tummy as she was in. A weird date to mark but one that I promised to remember when she was born early.

Happy Mothers Day Mummy!
